Terms of use
These terms cover your use of Avatar Maker. They are short because the site is small: it hands you a drawing tool that runs in your browser, and you keep whatever you draw with it.
What you may do with the avatars
Avatars you generate here are yours. You may use, modify, publish and distribute them for personal or commercial purposes, including as profile pictures, in products, in printed material and in client work. No attribution or credit line is required, and you do not need to ask permission first.
Two limits apply, and they exist to protect other people rather than us:
- Do not present a generated avatar as a photograph or likeness of a real person who has not agreed to it.
- Do not use an avatar as part of material that is unlawful, that harasses somebody, or that impersonates a real individual or organisation.
What you may not do with the site
The site's own code, layout, text and the underlying drawing definitions remain ours. You are welcome to use the tool as much as you like, but please do not republish the maker itself as your own product, or copy the page text onto another site.
Automated hammering of the site — scripted reloads at a rate no person could produce — is not permitted, since it costs the host bandwidth without anybody getting an avatar out of it.
No warranty
The tool is provided as it is. It is offered without any warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Browsers differ, and it is possible that a particular browser or configuration will render or export an avatar differently than expected.
Because nothing you make is stored on our side, there is no copy of your work for us to recover. If an avatar matters to you, download it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site, and that includes an avatar you did not save before closing the tab.
Availability
This is a small static site and it carries no service level promise. Pages may be changed, moved or taken down, and features may be added or removed, without notice.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means the updated version applies to you.
Governing approach
Where local consumer law gives you rights that these terms cannot remove, those rights stand and nothing here is intended to limit them.
